What to Know Before Buying a High-Rise Condo

  • Higher fees often include more. Fees of $1,000 to $2,000 a month at buildings like The Regency, The Edgecliff or Edgecliff Point usually cover heat, staff, building insurance and amenities. Compare the total monthly cost, not just the fee.
  • Reserves and big projects matter. Elevators, roofs, garages and facades are expensive. Ask for the reserve study and any planned special assessments.
  • Financing depends on the building. Our Condo Financing Specialist, Matt Sheffey, checks a building’s approval status during your pre-approval.
  • Parking can be a separate unit. In some buildings a garage space is deeded and taxed separately.
